Ingredients

  • 1 cup Lemon Cake Mix
  • 1 large Egg
  • 4 tsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Instant Pudding and Pie Filling

Lemon Pound Cake

Dorm life doesn't have to mean you can't have delicious desserts! This simple but delicious pound cake can be cooked in just a few minutes in a manner that would surprise you.

Method:

Combine one unpacked cup of mix in a shaker bottle or small bowl with the egg, pudding, oil, and water. Mix until smooth.

Pour the mix into the sandwich maker or tortilla maker leaving plenty of room for expansion. Cook for about 2.5 minutes. If you put a toothpick into the thick part of the cake, it should come out dry. The cake will also cook a little while it cools.

Pro Tips

  • To get an unpacked cup, we put the measuring cup in the sealable bag and tumble the mix into the cup.
  • The cake mix we buy comes in 1 lb. (16 oz. - well, 16.5 oz. really) boxes. The lemon pudding we buy comes in a 3.4 oz. box. We just mixed the two together in a sealable bag and save the rest for later!
  • You can use a folding cutting board to funnel ingredients into a shaker bottle.
